Part II On Doctrine of Great Success (Selection)

If you want to achieve great success in your career, first, you must have a vision of 10 years, 20 years or even 30 years and a feasible plan. Why need a vision? Only a long-term vision can be a reachable great goal. A great goal cannot be achieved soon. It keeps motivating you to work hard.
To increase your confidence of realizing your dream and achieving your vision, you must have some mid-term and short-term objectives and the related plans. Realizing of each short-term objective can make you more confident.
In order to set properly objectives and plans, and have your plans carried out smoothly achieving the objectives, you shall follow the following advice.
I. Understanding
You can establish your objectives and plans properly and have your plans carried out smoothly achieving the objectives, only after understanding macro-economic environment, market rules, requirement of your customers, and understanding your partner and your colleagues.
II. Expression
You understanding others does not mean that they also understand you and will support you heart and soul.
It is normally considered that it is enough to take half a day to express clearly in both oral and written words. The purpose of expression, being understood by others, is often forgotten! It happens that people still can not understand you even if it has been expressed clearly in both oral and written words. It happens that people do not agree with you even if they have understood you. It happens that people will not support you even if they have agreed with you. It happens that people will not support you heart and soul even if they support you more or less.
Please pay attention to the following if you want to express successfully to get others’ support.
1. Cheating and inauthentic information cannot be used to gain your ends.
2. Proper procedure and approaches shall be used to get understood.
3. It should be based on trust, besides understanding, to get support and cooperation.
4. Sometimes understanding and trust is still not enough to gain support and cooperation. Good relationship and even affection is needed.
III. Suspicion
Before understanding you shall have the capability of suspecting. People normally have thinking inertia – think experiences from past success of themselves and others, are the truth.
In fact, time is changing; environment is changing. Adopting experiences from past success without any change will lead to failure, since environment and impersonal conditions are changing.
Are things definitely cannot be achieved, which you or others did not make succeeded? Not necessarily. Conditions of success can become available with the changing of external environment.
Blind suspicion cannot make any progress. We shall doubt with dialectic point of view. That is, “negative negatives and negative positives”. In other words, we shall summarize successful experiences and also lessons of failure.
IV. Innovation
To make your dreams come true, you must exceed, exceed yourself and others. To exceed, innovation is needed. The definition of Innovation is to discover their shortcomings with adequate understanding of experiences of other people, or to bring forward new and useful approaches when the other people’s experience is no longer useful, with the changing of the environment.
There will be opportunities for you to innovate, as long as you recognize the shortcomings of your own and others.
V. Perseverance
Problems, difficulties, frustration and failures are still inevitable when vision and feasible plans have been established. The spirit of perseverance is extremely precious. We shall have the spirit of going west for Sutra of Monk Sanzang in Tang Dynasty

If you can live up to the four pieces of advice in “the Doctrine of Small Success” and the above five, I wish you a great success in your career in advance!
